Estudiantes de La Plata's X Account Hacked

Buenos Aires, March 14 (NA) — The official X account of Estudiantes de La Plata, @EdelpOficial, was hacked this Saturday. From this profile, a message was posted promoting a supposed cryptocurrency called 'Estudiantes Coin' with an external link, so the club immediately warned fans not to access the content or interact with recent posts. Minutes after the incident, the institution came out to alert its followers about the situation and confirmed that the profile had been compromised. 'We request that you do not click on any links or interact with recent posts,' the club informed. The post in question was deleted shortly after, although the event surprised and concerned social media users, especially due to the use of a supposed initiative linked to cryptocurrencies, a frequent modus operandi in this type of attack. From Estudiantes, they also indicated that they are already working to regain control of the profile and ensure the security of the account, amid an episode that had a rapid impact among members and fans of 'Pincha'. 'The X account @EdelpOficial has been compromised.'
